Hey hey, just want to post a little update of what I'm working on with my new series. These new works explore a lot more history, especially the late industrial pre WWI era where society had so much hope for the future, for the machine and for mankind itself. More to come...

Kennedy Town time travels

I generally don't like to publish my commissioned paintings but this one seemed a little different. I was asked to paint the house in the center, which is an old school house from the 1940's that was renovated into an absolutely beautiful single family home in Kennedy Town here in Hong Kong. Its not very often that you come across single homes like this on street level in the city so it was quite a treat. Since the rest of the street now has been developed with newer and less fitting buildings, I decided to go for a period theme here by placing the house into a street with more classical HK buildings. I always enjoy getting to have a little fun with commissions and it is not often that I get the chance to so I was a happy boy these past few weeks.

Central Project Ink Paintings

When I first arrived in Hong Kong I absolutely fell in love with the architecture of this city. It is a magical, one of a kind place so opposite to the world I left that I found it utterly intoxicating. Unfortunately, these old buildings are being torn down and replaced by lifeless, soulless mega structures faster than the Millennium Falcon doing the Kessel Run . I have taken it upon myself to try to document as many of these beautiful buildings and streets as I can before they are all but gone.
Here is a taste of what I have started, they are all from Central, Ink on Chinese rice paper.

Im not sure if this is a good sign or a bad sign, but the first pictures i took on my 1 year experiment were of an intense car accident i watched happen early this morning while waiting for the bus. It was actually the first accident ive been looking right at while it happened and it certainly caught me off guard. Everyone was ok though so no worries, just a lot of smashed metal and broken glass.
